Akoustis, a wireless tech concern, enters bankruptcy

Under a decision by the Third Circuit appeals court, Akoustis may have to pay post-petition interest to debtors.

Akoustis Tech, a wireless technology manufacturer with assets between $50 million and $100 million, filed with the US bankruptcy court for the district of Delaware for chapter 11 protection Monday morning. The bankruptcy may end up elucidating an important legal principle: the solvent debtor exception.

The filing came seven months after a devastating jury verdict and judgement.
