Glenn Weiner has taken on a role as the head of consultant relations at Alcentra, a firm he joins from Guggenheim Partners where he held a similar position as head of US consultant relations alongside his managing director role.
Weiner is filling a newly created position in the investment firm’s New York office, an Alcentra spokesman told PDI. He reports to Jack Yang, Alcentra’s head of Americas and global business development. The new employee’s start date was 5 July.
Before Weiner’s position at Guggenheim, he worked at Babson Capital Management along with Capital Guardian Trust, Wellington Management and Rogerscasey.
Alcentra recently reached an interim close for its European Direct Lending Fund II, a source had told PDI. The London-based firm has raised €2 billion for the fund, blowing past its original goal of €1.5 billion. It is expected to close by the end of the year.
Other than its London headquarters, Alcentra, which manages $28 billion, has offices in New York, Boston, Düsseldorf, Singapore and Hong Kong. The company’s investment strategies include senior loans, high-yield bonds, direct lending, structured credit, distressed debt and multi-strategy. It is owned by The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation.
