Athyrium Capital Management raises $2.02bn

The firm seeks to make investments in healthcare companies.

Athyrium Capital Management has held a $2.02 billion final close for its Athyrium Opportunities Fund III. Investors in the fund include The University of Michigan and the Alaska Permanent Fund.

The firm will use the capital to make investments in commercial-stage healthcare companies in North America, Western Europe and Asia Pacific, through debt, preferred and common equity. So far, it has made seven investments, representing approximately 20 percent of the total committed capital.
