Comvest Partners has hired Ashley Rainwater to its capital raising and investor relations team, the company said on Tuesday.
Rainwater will hold the title of director of investor relations at the firm. Most recently, she served as director of marketing and investor relations at the private equity firm Kohlberg & Company in New York, where she managed LP relationships and fundraising for its 2016-vintage $2.2 billion Kohlberg Investors VII fund, according to a statement. Prior to Kohlberg, she worked in at Blackstone’s private equity group and started her career at Citigroup.
Rainwater’s hire comes as Comvest is expanding its US direct lending capacity this year.
This spring, the firm hired Tom Goila from Goldman Sachs to lead originations, structuring and management of debt investments for the group. Shortly before bringing Goila on board, the firm opened a direct lending outpost in New York in March, tapping veteran employee Dan Lee to lead the new office. The firm is based in West Palm Beach, Florida, and has additional offices in Los Angeles and Chicago.
“Ashley joins at a key point in time as assets under management across our private equity and direct lending strategies have grown to over $2.6 billion and we continue to expand and diversify our institutional investor base globally,” Michael Falk, chief executive officer and managing partner at Comvest, said in the statement.
The expansion happens as Comvest has been raising its fourth direct lending fund, as Private Debt Investor exclusively reported. Launched in June 2016, the fund will seek $650 million.
The firm’s direct lending platform provides financings between $10 million to $100 million to lower mid-market companies with EBITDA in excess of $3 million across North America, according to its website.
Comvest did not respond to requests for further comment.
