Ex-JPMorgan, PIMCO veterans launch private debt manager

The US start-up Firebrand Investors has senior management in place and is working to build out its investment team, Private Debt Investor has learned.

Two debt market veterans have set up Firebrand Investors, a New York-based GP focused on the fast-growing private credit market, according to a person familiar with the firm.

The co-founders are Scott Mather, former lead portfolio manager for PIMCO’s $46 billion Total Return Fund, and Kevin Corgan, who spent 17 years at JPMorgan, most recently as head of strategic situations.
