Jiří Król: A US policy shift that bodes well for private debt

Under President Trump, the SEC is expected to put greater focus on capital formation in both public and private markets.

The incoming Trump administration will see a marked shift in the US’s approach to regulation of the private credit industry. Under Gary Gensler’s leadership, the SEC viewed private markets with scepticism and distrust, which underpinned several proposals that sought to fundamentally redesign the regulatory framework for private markets.
