Muzinich lures team of four from ECM

The new recruits have left the Wells Fargo subsidiary to focus on Muzinich’s European syndicated loans activities.

Muzinich & Co, the corporate credit specialist, has hired Torben Ronberg, Stuart Fuller, Sam McGairl and Alex Woolrich from London hedge fund manager ECM Asset Management, a Wells Fargo subsidiary.

The four have been brought in to focus on syndicated loans in Europe and, according to a statement from Muzinich, will “complement our current activities in European publicly traded corporate bonds and European private debt”.

Muzinich described the hires as part of the firm’s global effort to invest across the capital structure.

The four colleagues had previously run the €318 million ECM Senior Secured Credit and €457 million ECM Loans strategies, according to a Reuters report.

Muzinich was founded in New York in 1988 and now has European offices in London, Manchester, Cologne, Madrid, Milan and Zurich. Its offerings include high yield, crossover investment grade, senior loans and middle-market loans, and it has over $25 billion in assets under management.

The firm declined to comment further on the new hires when contacted.
