NYSCRF approves $470m in commitments

The US public pension has backed three private debt vehicles.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has confirmed $470 million-worth of private debt commitments to three vehicles, according to the pension’s February 2020 investment report.

The commitments comprise of $300 million to Avenue Sustainable Solutions Fund, $150 million to The Carlyle Group’s SASOF V fund and $20 million to Pennybacker Credit II.

The $215.54 billion US public pension has a 2.30 percent allocation to private debt.

As illustrated below, NYSCRF has made six commitments to private debt funds with a 2019 or 2020 vintage, which combined constitute $1.22 billion.
