Parker: Issuance ‘sowing the seeds’ for future distressed

The loans provided to mid-market companies that have grown through acquisitions will create a strong pipeline when the economy hits its next down cycle, says Highland’s head of credit research. 

Heavy issuance in the corporate bond, leveraged loan and CLO market is laying the groundwork for distressed opportunities in the coming years, according to Highland Capital Management leadership.

The $17.7 billion investment adviser hosted a panel at The Morgan Library & Museum on Tuesday that explored how the firm plans to approach what they expect to be a robust pipeline of distressed situations in the coming years.
