Law firm Simmons & Simmons has expanded its Italian financial markets team with the appointment of two partners from rival law firm White & Case.
Paola Leocani and Nicholas Lasagna will both be based in the firm’s Milan office, where they will work on the financial markets team.
Leocani advises clients on a number of investment strategies, including debt, securitised derivatives and equity capital markets. She spent three years at White & Case as a partner on the international capital markets team, a stint that followed seven years at Allen & Overy, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Lasagna’s focus is on financings both with banks and in the capital markets, which includes advising on syndicated loans and debt restructurings. Both started working at the firm on 7 October.
Jonathan Hammond, head of the firm’s international finance markets group, said: “Their arrival emphasises our continued commitment to developing our international capital markets offerings and brings to 10 the number of partners who have joined our international financial markets practice so far this year.”
