Triton has appointed Gordon Watters to its Triton Debt Opportunities team as an investment advisor.
Watters, who is also a chief risk officer at LCM Partners and also sits on LCM’s Luxembourg funds’ board, joins Triton’s debt business as a member of its investment advisory committee.
Triton has been investing in debt since 2009 and the appointment of Watters will add considerable additional experience to its team. The investment advisory committee advises the board of Triton Debt Opportunities Fund I on investment decisions.
Watters continues to work at LCM Partners as chief risk officer and a senior advisor, focusing on NPLs and investments in performing and non-performing retail consumer debt.
He has also been chairman of SME credit investor Shard Credit Partners. Before that he headed Ares Management’s development of its European business. Watters has held earlier roles at Barclays, Credit Lyonnais Securities and Bank of Scotland.
Triton Debt Opportunities Fund I is the firm’s first dedicated debt investment vehicle and invests in corporate loans, bonds and other financial obligations, securities and instruments. It was raised in 2014 with €500 million of committed capital.
Editor’s note: Watters did not leave LCM Partners; he continues his work there. The Triton appointment is in addition to his position at LCM Partners.
