Victory Park Capital announced three promotions and five new hires on Thursday, including two promotions for professionals who focus on origination in the firm’s direct private debt and equity business.
Charles Asfour was promoted to principal. His responsibilities include origination, due diligence, transaction execution and management of direct private debt and equity investments, focusing specifically on companies in the logistics and transportation sectors, according to a statement. He also oversees operational turnarounds and other initiatives.
Thomas Welch was promoted to Vice President. Like Asfour, Welch also focuses on origination, transaction execution and management of direct debt and equity deals. He also specialises fundamental analysis, albeit in the specialty finance and industrial sectors.
The Chicago-based small and mid-market specialist also promoted Matthew Coad to vice president of business development.
“Charlie, Matt and Tom have all played key roles developing the firm, and will continue to play an integral role in cultivating the strong foundation we have set for our daily operations,” said firm founder Richard Levy in a statement.
In addition to the three promotions, Victory Park also hired Phillip Nanney, Zachary Nemes and Whitney Phillips as associates. Matthew Schick and Laura Woolf were added as back office professionals.
Victory Park invests in a variety of sectors, including industrials, services and consumer products. Carroll founded the firm in 2008 alongside Richard Levy, Matthew Ray and David Valentine. The co-founders had been members of multi-strategy investment firm Magnetar Capital.
