Duff and Phelps move into debt advisory – exclusive

Ken Goldsbrough has joined from Houlihan Lokey to establish a debt advisory practice for Duff & Phelps.

Financial advisory services firm Duff & Phelps has hired Ken Goldsbrough to expand its offering into debt advisory. 

Goldsbrough joins as a managing director from Houlihan Lokey, where he was a managing director in the European Capital Markets Group and advised corporates on raising debt finance. 

He took up his new role at Duff & Phelps this week and is based in the firm’s London office. Goldsbrough will build a new debt advisory business in Europe focusing on primarily private companies, sponsored and unsponsored corporates and dealing with both day to day financing needs and event-driven deals, he told PDI

Goldsbrough plans to make one hire initially and build the team as necessary. 

Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Goldsbrough was head of European Debt Advisory at Greenhill. He has alosdone stints at GE Capital, Barclays and Paribas, where he was head of UK Corporate Banking, according to Houlihan Lokey’s website. 

Along with the new debt advisory service, Duff & Phelps’ corporate finance unit includes M&A, restructuring, private placements and transactions advisory services. The firm also advises on tax, valuations and real estate. 

The firm executed a management buyout in 2013 supported by Carlyle, Stone Point Capital, Pictet and Edmond de Rothschild.
