Star Mountain names president

Bob Long has joined the lower mid-market lender as its first president. He was previously the president and chief executive of Oak Hill Advisors’ externally managed BDC.

Star Mountain Capital has appointed Bob Long as its president.

The position is a newly created role within the lower mid-market lender. Long was previously the president and chief executive of OHA Investment Corporation, the business development company that Oak Hill Advisors became the investment manager for in late 2014, replacing NGP Capital Resources Company.

Prior to OHA, Long was chief executive at Conversus Capital, a publicly traded fund of private equity funds, with $3 billion in assets under management. He also held senior roles in Bank of America’s strategic capital group and its real estate mezzanine group.

“The addition of Bob to the Star Mountain team demonstrates our long-term commitment to building a leading asset management platform focused on small and medium-sized business investments,” commented Brett Hickey, chief executive and founder at Star Mountain. “We are thrilled to add a seasoned leader and business builder of Bob's caliber to our firm.”

The OHA Investment Corporation announced in January that Steven Wayne had been appointed president and chief executive at the BDC, replacing Long. Wayne is a managing director and portfolio manager at Oak Hill Advisors.
