Capitala hires Flinn to tap Texas investment opportunities

The hire will allow Capitala to re-open its Dallas origination activity and adds healthcare industry expertise to its team.

Lower mid-market debt investor Capitala has hired former Monroe Capital director Glenn Flinn to its Dallas, Texas office.

Flinn joins the firm as a director and will take responsibility for relationship sourcing and origination of business opportunities from the recently added Dallas base.

He has 25 years of experience lending to mid-market business, most recently at Monroe Capital. He has also spent time as a director at CapitalSource Finance. In both roles he took responsibility for business origination and managing relationships with equity sponsors and investment banks.

Joe Alala, chairman and CEO of Capitala Group, said “[Flinn’s] notable experience and healthcare expertise will be a valuable resource as we grow Capitala Group’s portfolio and capital sources.  We look forward to working with him to execute on our equity growth fund and credit fund strategies to help more small businesses succeed.”

Capitala operates a number of single-staff origination offices across the US, supported by underwriting, portfolio monitoring and admin support from staff in its Charlotte, North Carolina headquarters.

The firm previously ran an office in Dallas and believes Flinn will help to re-build the firm’s opportunities in Dallas and surrounding markets.
