Chart of the week: US private debt fundraising slows

Capital raised so far in 2016 is below a year ago, but there are still plenty of vehicles in market.

Relatively high yields are attracting investors to the US market, including the Chicago Police Pension, which has issued a request for proposals for investment management services, including private credit.

US private debt fundraising has slowed in 2016, with the total so far just over half the amount raised last year.

Despite this dip, capital is still pouring into the market and investor sentiment remains positive

According to PDI Research & Analytics, fund managers are targeting high volumes of capital to invest into US private debt – 194 private debt vehicles are currently seeking $67.3 billion.
