Charts of the year: private debt fundraising in Asia-Pacific

In PDI's look back at some of the more eyecatching charts of 2015, investors put a disappointing 12 months behind them.

Asia-Pacific caught investors’ attention this year with private debt fundraising hit new highs.

Capital raised for 2015 had matched last year’s target by July (see chart above), despite growing fears over a slowdown in China and investors citing fears over credit risks, according to PDI’s Perspectives survey.

The past 12 months have marked a stark contrast on 2014 when fundraising was down 57 percent on a year earlier.

The region still has some way to go, however, the $4.4 billion raised this year (see chart below) is still less than 5 percent of the $90.7 billion accumulated globally in 2015.
