CIFC opens London office and hires European fundraiser

The US credit manager is looking to expand its investor base across the European continent.

New York-based credit manager CIFC has opened a London office and hired Joshua Hughes to head its European fundraising.

Hughes most recently served as head of global distribution at Muzinich & Co. He joined the firm in 2008 after working as a relationship manager for Raiffeisen Zentral Osterreich. He has also held roles at FTSE Russell and Thomson Reuters.

In his new role as head of European marketing for CIFC, Hughes will focus on fundraising efforts in the UK and across Europe as the firm establishes a European investment platform. He will be based in the firm’s new London office and report to CIFC co-CEO Oliver Wriedt.

CIFC co-CEO Steve Vaccaro said the hiring and the new London office “firmly establishes our presence abroad, as we seek to leverage our extensive experience investing across US performing and structured credit strategies to tap into European investor interest.”

CIFC was founded in 2005 and has over $17 billion of assets under management, specialised in US corporate and structured credit strategies.
