Citi names new DCM head in Oz, New Zealand

The bank has made another promotion to its DCM team in Asia as it ramps up to meet demand.

Ian Campbell has been promoted to head of debt capital markets (DCM) for Citi in Australia and New Zealand.

Campbell has been with Citi for seven years and was appointed as managing director of DCM for Citi in Australia and New Zealand last month. Prior to that, he was responsible for fixed income research in the capital markets origination team of Daiwa Securities Capital Market in Australia and London.

In his new role, Campbell will report to John McLean, head of capital markets origination at Citi.

Last month, James Arnold, who used to work alongside Campbell in the DCM team, was promoted to head of the Asia Pacific debt capital markets syndication team at Citi.

The promotions in the DCM team signal Citi’s plan to strengthen its presence in the Asia Pacific debt market to meet the demand from Asia Pacific investors for global debt investments.

In 2016, Citi added $2 billion of commitments in Asia, with 25 facilities in the region. The bank conducts business in more than 160 countries globally.
