Credit fundraising shines in KKR’s Q3 results

The asset class's $8bn growth in AUM accounted for two-thirds of the capital the manager raised during the quarter

KKR’s credit and liquid strategies segment contributed $8 billion, or two-thirds, of the global asset manager’s fundraising in the third quarter, the company reported on 7 November. In the segment, new capital raised was driven by direct lending and asset-based finance strategies in the US and Europe.

During the New York-based manager’s earnings call, Robert Lewin, chief financial officer, noted that private credit AUM had more than tripled in the span of three years to $83 billion, and that the asset class was particularly active in the quarter.
