Law firm Debevoise & Plimpton has appointed Patricia Volhard as a partner.
Volhard returns to the law firm, where she was an associate at an earlier stage in her career. She specialises in advising private funds on regulatory issues across Europe.
She joins from Pöllath + Partners, where she was a partner in the Frankfurt office. In addition to this, she is involved in the trade association Invest Europe, previously known as the European Private Equity & Venture Capital Association, where she once served as chair of the tax, legal and regulatory committee. She now holds the chair position on the organisation’s financial services/regulatory working group.
Volhard will work out of both Debevoise’s London and Frankfurt offices and will begin her role this month. She will head up the firm’s Europe private funds regulatory practice.
Erica Berthou, chair of the global investment management funds group, said: “Navigating regulatory issues has never been more crucial to the success of private funds. The arrival of Volhard strengthens our global funds regulatory platform, giving us a true heavy hitter in mainland Europe to add to our UK and US teams.”
Volhard said: “Debevoise’s global reputation in private funds is second to none. The regulatory strength they have built is testament to their commitment to the sector.”
