EIF makes $40 million commitment

The European government organisation has backed a Western Europe focused senior debt fund.

The European Investment Fund has committed €35 million ($40 million) to Ver Capital Credit Partners SMEs VII, according to a December 2019 news release. Capital raised by the fund will be invested through senior debt instruments to support the growth of SMEs based mostly in Italy. The fund’s resources may also be allocated to SMEs headquartered in France and Germany.

As illustrated in the charts below, the €2.66 billion organisation has a strong appetite for Europe-focused funds that employ a range of strategies. EIF has made commitments to eight funds with a 2019 vintage.
