GE Capital hires to push commercial leasing outside US

Henry Allen joins the US-based mid-market lender to help lead its international business.

US-based mid-market lender GE Capital has appointed Henry Allen as commercial and growth leader of its international business. Allen will be responsible for all markets outside the Americas, according to a statement.

The new hire is designed to boost the growth of GE’s core commercial leasing and lending business, continued the statement.

Allen’s last role was with Aurora Consultants. He was previously the chief executive officer of The Receivables Exchange and has also worked at Marsh Inc. and 3i.

He will be based in London and reports directly to president and chief executive of GE Capital International, Richard Laxer.

As part of his new role, Allen will assume responsibility for six teams including the equipment finance and fleet teams.

London-headquartered GE Capital International services customers from 30 markets across EMEA and Asia Pacific. Its mid-market financing solutions include accounts receivable management, inventory finance, asset backed lending, cross-border financing, leveraged finance, leasing/vendor finance and fleet management solutions.
