GE lures Lloyds veteran

The group has appointed Robert Plehn to be its capital markets leader after more than 10 years at Lloyds Banking Group.

GE Capital International has appointed Lloyds veteran Robert Plehn to be its capital markets leader, the group said in a statement on Wednesday.

He will be responsible for all strategic capital markets activities for GE Capital businesses in Europe and Asia-Pacific, including cashflow and asset-backed loan and lease syndications.

He will report to GE Capital International chief executive Rich Laxer, and replaces Ellen Brunsberg, who became president of GE Real Estate Europe earlier this year.

Plehn has spent more than 10 years at Lloyds Banking Group, where he had been head of the bank’s asset backed solutions team since 2011. Before that he held a variety of roles including head of the capital markets debt products group and head of the securitisation and covered bonds team.

Prior to joining Lloyds he worked for ING Baring between 2001 and 2003 as head of European and subsequently global securitisation. He began his career as a lawyer at Sidley & Austin.
