Gryphon Investors raises $300m

The American manager closes its second junior debt fund.

Gryphon Investors held a final close of Gryphon Mezzanine Partners II at the fund’s hard cap of $300 million of commitments. The fund was targeting $225 million, the firm said in a statement on Tuesday.

The fund will finance minority junior debt stakes of Gryphon’s current portfolio companies.

The firm’s debut debt fund, Gryphon Mezzanine Partners, closed in August 2017 with $105 million in commitments. Fund I also reached its hard cap.

Gryphon’s latest equity fundraise, Gryphon Partners V, closed in June of this year and reached $2.1 billion in committed capital.

No investors in Gryphon Mezzanine Partners II were disclosed.
