ICG has hired former KKR director Martin Preuss to its team in Germany to expand its coverage across the region.
Preuss will be based in Frankfurt and take on the role of managing director within the firm’s European subordinated debt and equity team. He will take responsibility for expanding the firm’s coverage across the DACH region of German-speaking countries and seek out investment opportunities.
He joined the firm this month from KKR in London, where he worked for almost 11 years in the German and European TMT private equity team. At KKR he was responsible for leading and originating investments, portfolio management and contributing to fundraising. Before joining KKR he worked in the TMT investment banking team at Citi.
ICG said its European subordinated debt and equity strategy, which provides capital support to long-term growth companies across the region, is one of its largest, having recently closed its ICG Europe Fund VII with €4 billion in third party commitments.
Jens Tonn, head of ICG Germany, said: “ICG in Germany is adding some great talent to our team. Martin has an impressive track record in European investing and has executed some great transactions in his career so far. We are delighted he has joined ICG as we accelerate our footprint in the DACH region.”
