ICG appoints former Muzinich MD to grown German client base

ICG has increased its focus on the German LP base after expanding its origination capabilities there in the summer.

Intermediate Capital Group has hired Julia Beinker from Muzinich & Co to grow the asset manager’s distribution in Austria and Germany.

Beinker spent the past three years at Muzinich as a managing director responsible for growing the company’s client base in Austria and Germany and will take on a similar task at ICG.

She previously spent eight years at Deutsche Bank, most recently as head of consultant relations EMEA for Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management.

ICG said its client base has been growing substantially in Germany and Austria over the past two years, with assets under management rising by more than 60 percent under the leadership of senior marketer Bastian Schmedding. It said expanding its team will allow it to cover a broader range of prospective clients, as well as support existing clients in the region.

The move is part of ICG’s broader strategy to grow its international footprint, with Germany forming an important part of that. In July it hired former Silverfleet Capital partner Klaus Maurer to build its origination in the German market.
