Illinois Teachers’ confirms $200m commitment

The US public pension has backed LCM Partners' fourth credit opportunities vehicle.

Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois has approved a $200 million commitment to LCM Partners COPS IV, a contact at the pension informed Private Debt Investor. The pension also previously committed to LCM Partners’ SOLO vehicle in January 2019.

The $53.98 billion US public pension has a 4.30 percent allocation to private debt which lies within its wider income asset class.

As illustrated below, Illinois Teachers’ has made four commitments to private debt funds with a 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $375 million.
