Mid-market lender Investec has hired Helen Lucas in a further boost to its growth and acquisition finance team, the firm confirmed on Tuesday.
Lucas will play a key role in originating and executing transactions on behalf of growth businesses and entrepreneurial management teams. She will report to Ed Cottrell, head of the growth and acquisition finance team.
The appointment takes to 17 the number of people on the growth and acquisition finance team and follows three hires over the course of 2013.
Lucas had previously worked at Barclays since 2007, where most recently she was vice president in the debt finance origination team. She was responsible for deal structuring and execution as well as financial sponsor coverage activities for key mid-market sponsors at Barclays. Prior to that, she acted as an associate director in Barclays’ business support division implementing restructuring and turnaround strategies for UK corporates.
Cottrell said in a statement: “The growth and acquisition finance team grew strongly in 2013, driven by the pipeline of deal opportunities that we have seen from mid-market companies seeking to fund future growth. It is hugely encouraging to see this trend continue into 2014.”
