Kartesia has hired CLO specialist Sharif Anbar-Colas as a portfolio manager to bolster its place in the CLO market.
Anbar-Colas joins from Jeffries where he headed the EUR CLO and CDO trading desk. He has 18 years’ experience in capital markets, 16 of which were focused on structured credit. Before joining Jeffries in 2009, he worked on the CLO and structured credit desks at Cohen & Co and UBS.
Kartesia has been active in the CLO market since 2010 across four of its funds as a way of delivering higher returns to investors. The funds have a bucket of between 15 percent and 20 percent to invest in CLO tranches.
Anbar-Colas will work to develop the firm’s structured credit division and provide investors with complementary products to diversify risk and enhance returns.
Kartesia focuses on providing finance to small and mid-market companies across Europe. It has invested over €1.4 billion in 100 companies and has offices in Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Luxembourg, Madrid and Paris.
