Macquarie has hired Agnes Mazurek as a managing director for its infrastructure debt team.
She joins from Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) where she was a director in the project finance team.
Mazurek will report to Kit Hamilton, who leads the Macquarie Infrastructure Debt Investment Solutions (MIDAS) platform. She has worked in debt markets for more than 16 years, including eight years at BTMU and stints at Natixis, Dexia and Société Générale.
She has also headed the public private partnership restructuring unit at Réseu Ferré de France.
“As we receive more European mandates from our clients, we are also seeing a growing demand from European infrastructure assets for long-term funding. We are delighted that Agnes has joined the team, bringing with her a wealth of experience and key contacts which will play an important role in realising these investment opportunities for our investors,” said Hamilton.
MIDIS has raised more than £3.3 billion ($5 billion; €4.6 billion) from investors and deployed more than £1 billion in debt financing, Macquarie said.
