Milbank lures projects lawyer from Linklaters(3)

The New York-headquartered law firm has appointed Clive Ransome as a partner in its global project finance group based in London. He was previously a partner at rival firm Linklaters.

Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy (Milbank), the New York-based international law firm, has hired Clive Ransome as a partner in its London-based global project finance group.

The recruitment of Ransome, who was previously a partner at rival law firm Linklaters, brings to four the number of new partners hired by Milbank over the last three months. The previous additions were in the corporate, anti-trust and leveraged finance practices.

Ransome has experience of power, refinery, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and petrochemical projects in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He has worked alongside sponsor groups as well as multilateral agencies, development finance institutions, export credit agencies and commercial banks.

“We have long known and worked with Clive in both London and Asia,” said Phillip Fletcher, practice group leader of Milbank’s global project finance group. “There is significant activity on large-scale projects throughout the world, and Clive’s addition will enhance our depth of experience and capabilities in London to serve those projects.”

Announcing its latest hire, Milbank claimed to have more top-ranked project finance partners than any other law firm in London, as assessed by legal research firm Chambers.

As well as New York and London, Milbank also has offices in Beijing, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Munich, Sao Paolo, Singapore, Tokyo and Washington, DC.
