NYSCRF confirms $900m in commitments

The US public pension has backed a pair of private debt vehicles in its latest round of commitments.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has confirmed $900 million-worth of commitments to private debt vehicles, according to the pension’s March 2020 investment disclosure report.

NYSCRF’s commitments comprise of $500 million to Vista Credit Opportunities Partners Fund III and $400 million to Blackstone Tactical Opportunities Fund III.

As illustrated below, the $225.90 billion US public pension’s most recent private debt commitments have included four vehicles focused on acquiring debt: two of them distressed and one each senior and subordinated. Three further commitments have focused on funds targeting senior lending, subordinated lending and CLOs.
