NYSTRS approves $100 million commitment

New York State Teachers’ Retirement System (NYSTRS) closed on one private debt commitment in Q2, according to the Board’s latest meeting materials. NYSTRS committed $100 million to Clearlake Opportunities Fund II having previously committed $50 million to the fund’s 2015 vintage predecessor.

The $119.40 billion US public pension has a 1.0 percent target allocation to private debt that currently stands at 0.50 percent.

As illustrated in the charts below, NYSTRS has made five commitments to private debt funds with a 2018 or 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $545.8 million.
