NYSTRS approves $100m commitment

The US public pension has backed a North America-focused fund.

In July 2018, a commitment of up to $100 million to ABRY Advanced Securities Fund IV was approved by the New York State Teachers’ Retirement System. The fund invests in senior bank loans issued by companies operating in media, communications, information and business services.

The $115.5 billion US public pension has a 1 percent target allocation to private debt that currently stands at 4.5 percent.
