NYSTRS commits $400m to private debt vehicles

The US public pension fund announced two commitments made between October and December 2023.

New York State Teachers’ Retirement System announced that two commitments worth a combined $400 million were made between October and December 2023 to private debt vehicles.

The commitments comprised $100 million to Peninsula VIII and $300 million to OIC Credit Opportunities IV.

Peninsula VIII is targeting a $450 million final close and is focusing on subordinated/mezzanine debt in North America. NYSTRS previously made commitments to Peninsula Capital Partners’ predecessor fund, which held a final close of nearly $364 million.

OIC Credit Opportunities IV is a subordinated/mezzanine debt vehicle focusing on the North American region.
