Obama signs JOBS Act

President Barack Obama signed the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act into law Thursday, signifying huge changes to the way private equity and venture capital fundraising is regulated.

The Jumpstart Our Business Startups Now Act cleared the final hurdle to becoming law, having been approved by President Barack Obama at a White House signing ceremony Thursday. 

The JOBS Act will institute a number of broad reforms that affect how private equity and venture capital is regulated by the federal government, including easing restrictions on advertising and solicitation of investors for private investment vehicles.
