Ostrum Asset Management has teamed up with Natixis for a joint venture offering real asset private debt co-investments.
The deal between Ostrum and Natixis’ Investment Managers and Corporate & Investment Banking divisions with take the form of a co-investment offering for private in three strategic sectors.
Real estate, infrastructure and aviation debt opportunities to investors worldwide.
The firms say there is strong investor demand worldwide for diversification across the asset classes.
Anne-Christine Champion, global head of distribution & portfolio management at Corporate & Investment Banking, Natixis, said: “In line with Originate to Distribute strategy, which has already enabled us to distribute under a co-investment scheme €2.3 billion in real assets to institutional investors, we can now offer our real asset origination, distribution and servicing firepower to a wider range of investors via this innovative set-up.”
Ostrum Asset Management has added Denis Prouteau to its team as real asset private debt chief investment officer to support the venture. He joins from Natixis where he has been head of global markets research since 2017.
He will head up two teams, one based in Paris and New York that will manage mono-sourced debt and co-investment with Natixis, while another Paris-based team will offer investment solutions on multi-sourced debt.
Ostrum is targeting increasing its real asset private debt AUM to €6 billion in 2020.
