OTPP appoints new APAC head

Canada’s biggest teachers’ pension plan has appointed a new regional managing director.

Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) has appointed Ben Chan as its regional managing director for Asia-Pacific, effective June 2018.

Mr. Chan, who previously held the post of co-head of investments at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, will be responsible for OTPP’s investment activities in the region. He will be based in Hong Kong office.

OTPP manages over C$180 billion ($138 billion) of net assets at June 30 2017.
