PEC, Investoraccess announce alliance

As part of an agreement between PrivateEquityCentral and InvestorAccess to work closely together, PEC's David Snow becomes Editor (Americas) of Private Equity International magazine.

In response to the continuing internationalisation of the asset class, London-based Investoraccess Ltd, the publishers of PrivateEquityOnline.com (PEO) and Private Equity International (PEI) magazine are joining forces with New York-based PrivateEquityCentral.net, a Web site covering the private equity industry, to deliver in-depth news initially on private equity to a global readership of over 50,000.

Both companies have grown their operations by focusing on investors’ relationship with private equity and other alternative asset classes. “Both teams have been at the forefront of delivering insight to investors about private equity and this partnership lets us deliver more news and analysis when the appetite for such information has surged from the buyside,” said David Hawkins, Publisher of PEO and PEI.

PrivateEquityCentral.net is an affiliate of HedgeFund.net, the leading online source of information about hedge funds, and a division of Links Securities LLC, a New York broker-dealer.

The alliance will see David Snow, editor in chief of PrivateEquityCentral.net and one of the most seasoned private equity journalists in the US, become editor (Americas) of Private Equity International. He and his editorial team at PrivateEquityCentral.net will work with their Investoraccess counterparts, led by managing editor Philip Borel, to provide top-quality coverage of private equity markets both online and in print.

“It’s a very powerful combination,” said Don Cacciapaglia, chief executive officer of HedgeFund.net, Inc. “PrivateEquityCentral.net has been covering the US scene for some years now and Investoraccess has developed a comparable franchise focusing on private equity in Europe. Together we can now deliver information that is genuinely global.”

As the private equity industry has matured, the issues that affect one market affect all markets. In addition, participants in this asset class now range from high-net-worth individuals to the world’s largest institutional investors and government pensions. Through their combined media holdings, Investoraccess and PrivateEquityCentral.net have sought to present news that cuts across borders and educates the growing numbers of private equity investors.

“With more information becoming available about the performance of private equity funds, there is an even greater need to put these numbers in context,” commented David Hawkins.

“Alternative investments have become an integral, and important, part of many investors portfolios,” said Cacciapaglia. “HedgeFund.net, Inc., intends to be a leading distributor of information on such assets, whilst Investoraccess is extending its publishing and other media activities solely within this group. By working together in terms of editorial, marketing and business development we both see a chance to grow further and faster.”
