Pemberton hires head of investor relations

The debt manager is expanding its LP engagement as it plans to raise additional capital for new and existing strategies.

Pemberton has appointed Cary Gibson as its head of investor relations as it looks to expand its global LP base.

Gibson joins Pemberton from Sand Grove Capital Management where she was head of business development. She began her career at JP Morgan in debt capital markets origination.

Pemberton has held two final closes this year raising a total of €4.2 billion for mid-market corporate lending in Europe. The firm confirmed it is in the market to raise additional capital and Gibson will support the launch of follow-up vintages of existing strategies and completely new strategies for Pemberton.

Antoine Josserand, head of business development at Pemberton, said: “[Gibson] is the perfect person to take Pemberton’s strong commitment to investor relations to the next level. We are continuing to see growing appetite from institutional investors and wealth managers for well-defined and successful mid-market direct lending, opportunistic strategies and new areas such as trade receivables finance.”

In June, Pemberton appointed two professionals with experience in supply chain finance but has yet to announce a fund for the strategy. It also opened an office in Copenhagen to improve its deal origination and investor engagement in the region.
