Tikehau Capital has recruited Peter Cirenza to lead the firm’s London operations.
A former partner at Goldman Sachs, Cirenza’s recent role was a lecturer at the London School of Economics.
Since 2005, Cirenza has served on the firm’s advisory board providing expertise on structured finance and mergers and acquisitions, but his role will be to oversee and develop the firm’s private debt, real estate and private equity investment strategy.
He will be working alongside chairman Lord Peter Levene.
Antoine Flamarion, co-founder of Tikehau, told PDI: “London is and will remain a strategic financial hub and we remain committed to investing in our operations there.
“Having been a member of Tikehau’s advisory board since 2005, he already knows the company very well and his past experience combined with considerable knowledge in economics are great assets for our company as we pursue our ambitious 2020 business objectives,” he added.
The €10 billion asset manager recently listed on Euronext and has a market valuation of €1.78 billion. At the time of writing, the firm’s shares are trading at €25.15.
According to a recent earnings report, the firm is planning to double its assets under management to €20 billion by 2020. The firm is also planning to expand its operations beyond Europe and into North America and Asia in that period in an attempt to achieve the AUM goal, according to Tikehau co-founder Mathieu Chabran.
