Partners Group has hired former Guggenheim managing director Tom Stein to join its private debt team.
According to reports, Stein will report to Scott Essex, partner and head of private debt Americas at Partners Group. He joins as a managing director on the private debt Americas team.
Stein spent five years at Guggenheim as head of capital markets, joining the firm in September 2013 from Goldman Sachs. At Goldmans, he spent eight years working in its loans business, serving most recently as co-head of leveraged loan and high-yield capital markets. He has also held roles at Wells Fargo and Bank of America.
Partners Group’s private debt business has $15 billion in assets under management and has invested $20 billion since 2003. It launched its most recent fund, PG LIFE, in March this year with a $1 billion target focused on subordinated and mezzanine debt opportunities globally.
