Victory Park adds former banker to New York office

The Chicago-headquartered firm is also moving existing vice president Geoff Mikelsons to Los Angeles to expand its West Coast presence.

Victory Park Capital (VPC) has hired Karrie Truglia as a vice president in its New York office. The Chicago-headquartered lender is building out the office to further develop VPC’s debt capital markets activity in the region, VPC said in a statement.

Truglia joins VPC from Citigroup, where she worked for eight years and served as director of global securitized products. Truglia has held several other management positions at Bear Stearns, Assured Guaranty and BMW Financial Service, prior to Citigroup.

Additionally, VPC is growing its West Coast presence by relocating vice president Geoff Mikelsons to the Los Angeles office, where he will join VPC partner Jason Brown. Mikelsons started working at VPC in February 2012, having come from a finance post at Argo Tea. He was based in Chicago prior to the move.

VPC also announced the promotion of three investment professionals to vice president and the hiring of four new associates and two operations personnel to its Chicago office. Whiteney Doerr, Philio Nanney and Zachary Nemes, all of whom work in the originations group, have been promoted to vice presidents in Chicago.

Victory Park is a privately held registered investment advisor that invests in debt and equity of mid-market companies across a range of industries. Since its founding in 2007, the firm has invested $3.8 billion across 62 transactions.
