VRS confirms $575m in commitments

The US public pension has backed a pair of private debt vehicles in its latest round of commitments.

Virginia Retirement System approved $575 million-worth of private debt commitments in July, a contact at the pension informed Private Debt Investor.

The commitments comprised $300 million to Oaktree Oppportunities Fund XI and $275 million to Prudential Capital Partners VI.

The $76.9 billion US public pension invests in private debt via its credit strategies portfolio.
