White Oak adds to origination ranks in New York

Marcelo Sarago will be joining one other originator in New York. The firm now has seven originators in total.

White Oak Global Advisors has hired Marcelo Sarago as a director of origination in its New York office. He will be responsible for originating and underwriting new investment opportunities for the firm’s private debt funds, White Oak announced yesterday (25 November).

Sarago has 12 years of experience in origination and alternative debt investing. Prior to joining White Oak, he served as senior director at ICON Investments. While there, he structured and executed transactions for both public and private companies across a variety of sectors including chemicals, energy, transportation and manufacturing. Before that, he was a vice president of Citigroup's Corporate M&A and Strategy Group and began his career with American Corporate Services, a boutique investment banking firm.

White Oak has one other originator in New York — managing director Allan Marzen — and four in its headquarters in San Francisco. Kevin Grossman was also recently hired as a managing director of originations for the firm’s new Denver office, as reported by PDI.

White Oak Global Advisors directly originates private debt financings to mid-market companies to support growth initiatives. White Oak'offers asset-based secured term loans and credit facilities, cash flow based term loans, unitranche facilities, rescue and debtor-in-possession financings, in/out of court restructuring, acquisition and capital expenditure facilities and other structured finance instruments.
