Z Capital Partners has named managing director William Monagle as its new chief operating officer, the firm announced in a statement Tuesday.
“Bill brings to this role more than two decades of leadership and investment experience in analysing private markets as well as proven expertise in tax and accounting related issues,” said chief executive officer James Zenni.
Monagle has been a member of the firm’s operations and investment team since November 2012. He was previously a partner and senior strategist for advisory firm NEPC, where he focused on private markets research, due diligence and performance monitoring. Prior to joining NEPC, Monagle performed private equity research at Rogerscasey, according to a statement.
Z Capital specialises in companies in need of restructuring or revitalisation, according to a statement. In September, the firm entered talks to acquire MSD Performance through Chapter 11 bankruptcy, in which the firm already holds a majority stake in its outstanding debt through its Senior Prepetition Facility, according to a bankruptcy filing.
Z Capital was founded in 2006 and has approximately $1.1 billion in assets and committed capital under management, according to its website.
