Deutschland deals

German deal activity has been flat for years.

Despite its vast wealth of high-quality mid-market companies, German deal activity has remained static since 2015.

Figures from Deloitte’s Alternative Lender Deal Tracker show that German deal activity leapt forward between 2013, when the country saw just 13 deals, to 2014 when deal activity more than doubled to 27.

However, since then deal activity has remained broadly the same according to Deloitte, with numbers peaking at 30 deals.

Much has been said about the potential for Germany as a private debt market, but with a large number of local banks operating in the country, it may take some time for private debt to really make its mark.
