How are horizons shifting for Asia’s private debt landscape?

Opportunities are opening up for private credit investors in markets such as India and Australia, but domestic banks are fighting back in Southeast Asia.

With fundraising down dramatically for APAC private debt last year, lenders on the ground are finding that demand for credit significantly outstrips supply.

And while banks are still the primary source of credit capital, that supply/demand imbalance is driving Asia’s increasingly sophisticated borrowers towards the private credit space – which, in turn, is opening up some attractive investment opportunities.
