New York State Common Retirement Fund approves $210m in commitments

The US public pension has backed two North America-focused private debt funds.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has approved a commitment of $200 million to Clearlake Opportunities Partners II and a $10 million top-up commitment to BIG Real Estate Fund I, according to the pension’s May 2019 monthly report. An initial commitment of $25 million was made to BIG Real Estate Fund I in January 2018.

The $210.20 billion US public pension has a 1.30 percent allocation to private debt.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has made four commitments to private debt funds with a 2018 or 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $650 million.
